Italian holiday resorts are distinguished for their variety and can also cater for the most demanding travellers; - ski resorts, golden sandy beaches in Sardinia and Tuscany, spas and wellness centres, ancient cities and historical towns. Italy awaits sea lovers from May to October, when you can swim and sunbathe in the best resorts and, on the Adriatic Riviera, the swimming season can prolong itself further (according to the weather conditions).
The ski districts of the Alps and Apennines are among Italy's show-pieces. Unlike close-by Austria and Switzerland, in Italian ski resorts a continuous festive atmosphere reigns supreme. From December to April it is possible to avail of a full range of tourist and animation services, sure snow, excellent weather conditions for skiing and many more days of sunshine compared to the other ski resorts of the Alpine arc. You will also find 2,500 km of slopes and more than 1,500 ski lift systems. In any resort you stop at, the ski-pass will allow you to ski in all the best Italian skiing districts.

Italian ski resorts cater for all levels of skiers. To the North east of the country there is Val d'Aosta (Cervinia, Pila, La Thuile, Mount Rosa, Courmayeur, Aosta) where the majority of slopes are for the higher levels; this zone attracts climbers and hikers thanks to the steep rocky walls of its mountains.
The ski resorts of the Dolomites (Val di Fiemme, Cortina D'Ampezzo, Arabba, Val Gardena, Marmolada, Sella Ronda, Predazzo, Cavalese) offer flatter slopes which attract skiers of all levels; the magnificent beauty of the Dolomites and its pine forests will not leave visitors indifferent.
