Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy and located at the foot of the Alps, in a valley of tectonic-glacial origin.
Garda Lake is characterized by cold winds and its coastline is
distinguished by a mild climate and lush vegetation, typical of the
Mediterranean zones.
There are many important resorts along the banks of the lake, some of
the most famous include: Sirmione, Desenzano del Garda, Bardolino,
Malcesine, Riva del Garda.
The Gardesana Orientale natural reserve has been created on the eastern coastline.
Lake Garda is home to the largest fun park in Italy: Gardaland. There
are also aquatic and dolphin parks such as Seaworld and Canevaworld and
the famous fun park called Movieland.
Tourism, fishing and sailing are activities which have highly developed in the area.
The romantic Lake Maggiore is on the border between Italy and
Switzerland. This place amazes for its splendour and beautiful sunny
weather. The town of Stresa receives the highest number of visitors and
is well-known for the beauty of its magnificent coast, along which we
find palms and magnificent gardens with villas and hotels in "Baroque"
style.
